This book is a powerful tool that God used to bring me out of the Charismatic movement. In fact, i hated the title when began reading it.
At that time i knew something seemed wrong with Charismatic dogma and lifestyle, but i was not sure, things where a bit grey for me, until i ordered this wonderful masterpiece by John s: Solid scholarship that gives an inspiring illumination of the way Jesus and the church recognized and used the OT as Scripture, as the Word of God.
In the same way the message of the gospel became to be recognized in the NT as the complimentary authorative Word of God as Scripture.
What God says, Scripture says. What Scriptures says, God s: The first, logos, refers principally to the total inspired Word of God and to Jesus, who is the living Word.
Logos is found in John ; Luke ; Philippians ; Hebrews ; and other verses. The second Greek word translated “word” is rhema, which refers to the spoken word.
